Can campers be in a group with their friends?
All Highlander Summer camps are based on a camper's rising grade level. Campers registered in a program for a specific grade level will be in the same group. Campers registered for a program with multiple grade levels may be divided into smaller sub-groups based on rising grade levels, if necessary.
We do not guarantee campers from different grade levels will be in the same sub-group, as sub-groups are often determined by enrollment.
What should my child wear to camp?
Attire must be tasteful and appropriate. We recommend campers wear breathable shorts and T-shirts, as they will be outside at some point during the day. All campers are required to wear closed-toe or athletic shoes every day. Campers are allowed to bring sandals or flip-flops to change into while walking to and from the pool.
Lake Highland Preparatory School students attending camp do not have to wear their school uniform.
Campers are encouraged to wear their Highlander Summer T-shirts on Fridays for Spirit Day.
What should my child bring to camp each day?
Parents will receive a welcome email prior to the beginning of each camp week. This email will link them to the Family Resource Drive, which will list the items needed for specific camps. In general, campers may want to bring a snack or two and a water bottle along with a swimsuit, towel, goggles, and sunscreen. We recommend leaving any valuable items at home.
Can my child bring a cell phone to camp?
Cell phone privileges come with expectations and guidelines appropriate for the camper’s age and the expected use of such devices. We recommend campers leave their phones at home.
Campers may not use their phones during regular camp hours or while attending Extended Day.
Lake Highland Middle and Upper School students taking academic courses may bring their phones on campus but are not permitted to use their phones during course periods.
If you need to contact your child during the camp day, please call our office, and we will relay any important information to your child.

How do I register my child for camp?
Summer camp registration is completed through CampBrain. If you do not already have an account, simply create one using your email and follow the directions on each page.
We highly suggest creating an account before registration opens, as many of our camps sell out quickly.
When are payments due?
Families have three options to pay via credit and debit card:
- Pay in full at the time of registration
- Pay only the deposit(s) at the time of registration, and pay the remaining balance in full in mid-May
- Pay only the deposit(s) at the time of registration, and split the remaining balance into two installment payments due in April and May
Once my child is registered, can I make a change?
If there is a need to switch programs, parents must email summer@lhps.org or call the Auxiliary Office at 407-206-1900 x1176. All monies will be transferred to the new program selection, and your account will be adjusted accordingly in conjunction with our refund policy.
What is your refund policy?
You can view Highlander Summer's refund policy on the Registration page.

Do you have a nurse on duty during camp hours?
How are medications managed?
If you or your child’s physician decide it is necessary for your child to receive medication during the camp day, including self-administered medication, a medication administration authorization form must be on file in the clinic (this includes medications for all campers).
What if my child can’t swim? Is there an alternate activity during pool time?
Are swim lessons available during camp?
Highlander Summer does not offer swim lessons as part of the camp day. If you are interested in signing your child up for swim lessons, please visit the Highlander Aquatics website or call at 407-206-1900 ext. 1182.
Do you have a policy in place for severe summer weather?
LHP’s campuses are equipped with a lightning prediction and weather warning system for heat and high winds, which is closely monitored by security personnel. If lightning or high winds are detected close to campus, all campers and staff will be sent indoors for safety. If a heat advisory is issued, campers and staff will modify their time spent outdoors.
Do you provide transportation to and from camp?
How does my child get from one campus to another?
Shuttle transportation is provided between the Bradshaw Campus (main campus), the Charles Clayton Campus, and the Lake Highland Athletic Complex (LHAC) for campers attending Extended Day in the morning or afternoon. Shuttles are also provided to campers attending half-day sports camps transitioning into Day Camp.
