Senior Counselors

Senior Counselors are responsible for the daily management and supervision of a specific "cabin" (a small subgroup of campers). Additionally, they lead their campers through their daily scheduled activities. We require a six-week commitment, although priority will be given to applicants committed to working the full summer season. Senior Counselors must be at least 18 years of age and have completed one year of college. Equivalent work experience may be considered for this position.

Junior Counselors

Junior Counselors are responsible for assisting Senior Counselors with the management and supervision of a specific "cabin" (a small subgroup of campers). Junior Counselors are 17 or 18 years old and are rising college freshmen. We require a six-week commitment, although priority will be given to applicants committed to working the full summer season.

Lifeguards

Lakefront Lifeguards supervise campers who participate in kayaking and are selected by Highlander Summer.

Pool Lifeguards are selected by Highlander Aquatics.

All Lifeguards must be fully certified in CPR, first aid, lifeguarding, and water safety.

Counselors-in-Service

Our Counselors-in-Service (CISs) are rising 10th through 12th graders who serve as role models, committed to gaining valuable leadership experience. They actively develop and apply skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork while engaging with campers in a positive and fun environment. CISs commit to volunteer for at least three weeks in exchange for approximately 100 community service hours. They enthusiastically assist Lead Specialists or Camp Counselors in various capacities.
