Health & Safety

A Fun & Safe Environment

We are dedicated to fostering a safe and supportive environment for campers to thrive. Our primary focus is on the well-being of all Highlander Summer campers, counselors, staff, volunteers, and campus visitors.

Pool Safety

Campers are categorized into non-swimmer, beginner swimmer, and intermediate swimmer based on their swimming abilities. Certified lifeguards supervise the pool to ensure safety at a designated ratio.

Security

Alongside Lake Highland Preparatory School’s (LHP) vigilant on-site safety team, officers from the Orlando Police Department are a daily presence on campus.

Weather

LHP’s campuses are equipped with a lightning prediction and weather warning system for heat and high winds, which is closely monitored by security personnel. If lightning or high winds are detected close to campus, all campers and staff will be sent indoors for safety. If a heat advisory is issued, campers and staff will modify their time spent outdoors.

"As a parent, I am grateful for the safety, organization, and community I know the program is dedicated to providing. It’s a win-win!"
